Before Your Session
What To Do Before Laser Hair Removal
These steps help the laser reach the hair root while keeping your skin protected.
Do These Before You Arrive
- Book a free consultation so we can check your skin tone, hair type, and treatment fit.
- Shave the area 12–24 hours before your appointment.
- Come in with clean skin. No makeup, deodorant, lotion, oil, or residue.
- Use SPF 50 daily if the area may be exposed to the sun.
- Tell your technician about any medication, skin concern, or recent treatment.
Avoid These Before Treatment
- No waxing, tweezing, threading, or bleaching for at least 4 weeks before treatment.
- No tanning beds or strong sun exposure for at least 2 weeks before treatment.
- No self-tanner for at least 4 weeks before treatment.
- Avoid strong chlorinated pools for at least 4 weeks before treatment.
- Stop Accutane 6 months before treatment unless cleared by a medical professional.
- Stop retinoic acid or similar strong topicals 2 weeks before treatment.
Important: The laser needs the hair root to be present. Shaving is okay. Waxing, tweezing, threading, and bleaching can reduce treatment effectiveness.
Appointment Day
What To Do The Day Of Your Visit
Keep it simple. Clean skin, loose clothes, and no products on the treatment area.
1
Shave First
Make sure the area is freshly shaved within 12–24 hours before your appointment.
2
Keep Skin Clean
Arrive with no lotion, oil, makeup, deodorant, perfume, or skin product on the area.
3
Dress Loose
Wear loose clothing so the treated skin is not rubbed or irritated after your visit.
After Your Session
How To Care For Your Skin After Laser
Your skin may feel warm or look pink after treatment. These steps help keep it calm.
Do These After Treatment
- Apply aloe vera gel for 2–3 days to soothe the skin.
- Use an ice pack if the area feels warm, swollen, or tender.
- Wear SPF 50 daily for at least 2 weeks after treatment.
- Use a fragrance-free moisturizer to support healing.
- Gently exfoliate a few days later to help shedding hair release.
- Stay consistent with follow-up visits every 4–6 weeks if advised.
Avoid These After Treatment
- No direct sun exposure or tanning for at least 2 weeks.
- No shaving the treated area for 5–7 days after treatment.
- No intense workouts for 48 hours.
- No saunas, steam rooms, or hot baths for 24–48 hours.
- No harsh scrubbing, picking, or scratching.
- No chlorinated pools for at least 24 hours.
- No waxing, tweezing, or threading between sessions. Shaving only.
Normal skin response: mild redness or swelling can happen and often fades within a few hours to 1–2 days.
What To Expect
Simple Reminders For Better Results
Laser works best when your sessions are timed well and your skin is cared for between visits.
1
Hair Sheds Later
Results usually show within 2–3 weeks as treated hair begins to shed.
2
Consistency Matters
Each session builds on the last. Staying on schedule helps improve long-term reduction.
